"Who would believe that so small a space could contain the image of all the universe? O mighty process! What talent can avail to penetrate a nature such as these? What tongue will it be that can unfold so great a wonder? Verily, none! This it is that guides the human discourse to the considering of divine things. Here the figures, here the colours, here all the images of every part of the universe are contracted to a point.
O what a point is so marvelous!"

Leonardo Da Vinci on the camera obscura

Thank you Alexandra, Markus, Filippo and Csaba for providing your impressions - they're much appreciated. And yes, Csaba, it *is* a real camera obscura shot - captured with a homemade pinhole camera (a $7 paint can, a teeny eeny weeny hole and some photographic paper!) Delighted you like it, I do too, although I suspect it won't have wide appeal! Might just post some more - thank you again for your interest and for the referral to Marcin's portfolio ... Susie :o)

    It is a surprising photograph.
The comment is not enough to understand the picture:
    - is it a real camera-obscura shot? if it is, I have to say a loud congratulation to the author and a silent suggestion to visit the photos of Marcin Cieplucha here on fc... to find a similar soul :-) I love the simple anti-high-tech photography...
    - is it a digital shot elaborated as if it was created with a camera obscura? if it is, then a little more comment would be useful :-)

Nevertheless I like it, including the quote from Leonardo :-)

Your composition contains somethin special but I don´t exactly know what kind of it is. Something like a remembrance of Toskana because of the trees! The frame is very big, but not really bad in my eyes! An unconventionally work!

Nice greetings from Germany (Aachen, near the dutch and belgium frontier), Markus 8-))
