... this Mzee is the chairman (sth like a "mayor") of this little village in southern Karamoja (a dozen huts maybe, they just shifted because they had been raided too often) and in this time mostlike the only man among women and kids.
The good thing in dry season is, that the cattle is out and therefor there is little reason to raid.
On the other hand there is no one there to defend the villages, because the strong men are out. And even though most of the cattle is out, there are always still some few and a lot of goats and sheep. And therefor insecurity/raids/shootings are still a real threat.

Here we planted some more trees than usual, which will bear fruit within a year even, just a little support, but still. Of course we checked some sick people and animals, too.
