    I like that contrast between the strong lines of houses and the gently rolling hills. Its an awesome view at this location.

      Chopwell is a former coal-mining village- situated on the side of the Derwent valley on County Durham - about 20 kilometres from newcastle.
      100 years ago - there were over 200,000 coal-miners in the North-East - living in settlements like this. Now - there are none.  So these are "relict" settlements - somewhat out of their time.
