Cold feet

The white stork is a long-distance migratory bird that breeds in Europe and winters in Africa as far south as South Africa.

But not all white storks leave on migration.
Birds that are too old or too weak for the journey stay here for the winter (it is generally assumed that about 25% of the white storks population does not migrate).

The white stork that I shot is such a ‘home stayer’ and now enjoys the snowy winter days……. but with cold feet.
Poor chap.
