Common Hawthorn

Common Hawthorn is a very thorny bush or small tree and is extensively planted as a hedge plant, especially for agricultural use, but can also frequently be found in the forest.
It blooms in spring with abundant white flowers. However, these flowers have a faint scent of rotting meat, which results in pollination of the flowers by flies rather than by bees.
