Cranes at sunset
Some cranes decided to spend the winter here in Israel instead of migrating further to Egypt. Many of them gather in the remaining of a dried swamp (Hachula). The national park authority fenced the area so they won't be disturbed and feed them with corn. Now there are about 20,000 birds in that area. They use a tractor to move in the field with a covered cart so that people can sit there and get very near to the birds without being seen. Early in the morning and before sunset is when most of the birds come there.
