Diving at the USAT Liberty
In 1963, the "USAT Liberty" was pushed by the fatal eruption of the Gunung Agung volcano, its current resting place. The shell broke into two parts. Now it is only 30 meters from the beach on a 90° sandpile on the side parallel to the beach, showing the deck side to the open ocean.
An ideal dive site, because we can stomp from a beach restaurant directly through the sand to the wreck and then immediately dive to 30 to 35 meters. The wreck is 125 meters long, so we hardly can see it completely. Even I was diving at the wreck a dozen times, I always discovered something new.
