Dog Rose
The Dog Rose is a climbing wild rose species (native to Europe, northwest Africa and western Asia) with flowers that are usually pale pink, but can vary between a deep pink and white.
In the 18th and 19th century this plant was used to treat the bite of rabid dogs, hence the name "dog rose".

did it help? the dog rose treatment?? you know, i had wondered about that strange name! weirdly enough, in german, some people also call the dandelion a "hundeblume"… very interesting indeed! and, as always, a beautiful shot of the dog rose blossom – for me it's one of those flowers that radiate both a pleasant "thisworldliness" and an ethereal delicacy! oh, and what a lovely fragrance most of them fill the air with!! greetings, sabine.Daniela Cognigni 05/06/2014 16:12
