Der Erdbeerbaumfalter fliegt in zwei Generationen von Mai bis Juni und von August bis September. Er ist ein guter und schneller Flieger. Wenn er sich niederlässt, klappt er fast immer die Flügel zusammen. Die Männchen besetzen kleine Reviere, wo sie von einer Warte aus auf anfliegende Weibchen warten um sich zu paaren.

Charaxes jasius, male, the two-tailed pasha or foxy emperor, is a butterfly in the family Nymphalidae. It is the only European species of the genus Charaxes. This picture was taken in Kefalonia, Greece. Charaxes jasius is a medium to large butterfly with a wingspan reaching 65–75 mm in males and 75–90 mm in females. This species occurs in the coastal Mediterranean region and Africa. The two-tailed pasha is a fast-flying butterfly that displays territorial behaviour. The butterfly also is a noted for hill-topping. The adults of both sexes are attracted to fermenting fruits; they are attracted to the ethanol contained theirein, and can be baited with wine and other alcoholic beverages.
