It is in fact an extraordinary landscape - in terms of the view of a photographer. I would say that you had made the best of it, very good Mark! best Bert

      See my earlier reply, below.
This field is beside the road which goes from Wooler, west towards Kirk Yetholm, through a small river valley, called glendale.
It is one of my favourite roads.

Hi, I love your reportages that transport us to beautiful landscape scenarios and picturesque places, where the hand of man blends well with nature.

      Thankyou.
      These photos are from Friday.
This field is, at the same time, typical, and unusual.
The pink soil is typical of the Scottish borders, and of north Northumberland (in England).
The colour comes from old, red sandstone rock.
The field was also unusual - because it was so dry.
Perhaps it has a clay quality.
The gentle curves of the hills, and the solitary tree - made me think of the Crete Senesi, near Asciano, in Tuscany - where we had a holiday - many years ago.
      Mark
