... Where in 480 BC, the surviving Spartans of King Leonidas's 300 made their last defiant stand to delay the massive army of King Xerxes of Persia.
The battle of Thermopylae became legend before it was history, and is still studied in military schools today.
2300 years have altered the land, Where once was ocean is now dry land. Where once was a narrow pass is now a major highway. And on Kolonos hill is a simple inscription;
"Go tell the Spartans, Passerby. That here, Obedient to there laws, we lie."
