Ground Skimmer (Chalky Percher)
Diplacodes trivialis breeds in ponds, wet rice fields, shallow lakes, drainage ditches and similar habitats. It is one of the commonest dragonflies found in Asia, found in both the plains and hills, in both dry and wet areas. It can be seen far from water and is usually found settled on bare spots or footpaths in open spaces. Males have a whitish patch near the base of their hindwings, distinctly visible in flight. Otherwise clear wings, without apical or basal markings, and the creamy white anal appendages and deep pruinescence in adults, will help to distinguish this species from others in this genus.
