Halos and Shadows in a NoMad Golden Hour
It was a perfect June afternoon for discovering the inviting ambiance of New York's Madison Square Park (*) and
friend Jill, who lived in the area, suggested we dine at Black Barn, a restaurant on the northern edge of the Park,
which featured an outdoor cafe along E 26th St. Good spot for a break in photography (or so I thought!) and a burger.
I've always loved how the low-angled late afternoon sun can set those Manhattan canyons aflame in
intense golden light. Happily, a camera was at hand as these pedestrians were both halo'd and
shadowed by that strong late afternoon sunlight as they emerged from under some scaffolding.
Oh, yes, the burger ... it tasted even better after the joy of catching this NoMad (**) Moment.
