Heaven´s Door
A poignant dream
Deep in my sleep
I helped weary travelers.
Up roads, so steep, so rocky
And yet I led them,
Stopping to encourage the failing,
Lending a hand to those tiring of the journey.
Where were we going?
To a haven sheltered from the storm,
A refuge bringing peace and warmth.
On the crest of the mountain,
I was now able to view the destination,
For across the way I saw the white clouds,
Forming a home of light and beauty.
The reality took away my breath,
The epiphany brought tears to my eyes.
For in this wonderful home
Rested the weary from their suffering,
The journey I took with these tired voyagers,
Was to guide their way to rest,
For a respite against the storm.
The travelers turned to me
Questions in their eyes,
I had come so far, would I come with them?
I smiled and opened the door.
“Welcome, my dear friends,
This beautiful home awaits you.
The path is no longer steep
Come in and rest from your travels.”
I constantly think of these dear ones
One sunset I will see them again,
Until then, there is much more to do.
