Huey!
The Bell 204/UH-1 Iroquois, better known as the legendary 'Huey', was responsible for the Vietnam conflict called the 'Helicopter War'. It was a flying jeep, armed and unarmed. Hueys saved thousands of lives by extracting the wounded from the battlefield in extreme high-threat circumstances.
The Huey's two-bladed rotor produced a distinctive bop-bop-bop sound, louder than the engine noise, because the rotor tips reached a speed beyond the Sound barrier. This sound became even more famous through Billy Joel's song 'Goodnight Saigon'.
