In this life.... I loved you most of all
I used a different black and white conversion technique on this image to give it a more gritty feel to it. Wasn't sure if it works so that is why I placed it in the Critique section.
The ground slopes so I tried to use the large cross to determine straightness.
Honest critique welcome - straight and tough !

Great story and for those of us who have already had to say goodbye to beloved ones it comes very close.I think you managed very well to show the sloping foreground and I like the way the background cross appears out of the mist, while the foreground silouttes lend an eerie, but at the same time comforting detail to the scene.
Great shot, Ken, I like it a lot!
Best regards,
Susana

Brings back memories of the film medium time and the developing and printing and using high speed film to get this effect. Agree with Bryan about the trim off the bottom.:-)) HaroldSue Thompson 14/12/2012 9:17
The editing here really suits this rather sombre scene...imo :))
Well composed and the 'shadow' of the large cross is perfect and adds much to the scene.

I like the misty atmosphere and your conversion Ken, imho maybe reduce the black at the bottom by say half it kind of takes your eyes of the main part for me which is excellent?Wonder how others view it ?

Bryan
