Linga carving in Kbal Spean
The River of a Thousand Lingas.
Phnom Kulen is about 25 kilometres north from Angkor Thom and Angkor Wat. Kbal Spean ("Bridge Head") is an Angkorian era archaeological site on the southwest slopes of the Kulen Hills (Phnom Kulen).
Thousands of carvings which were created between the 11th and 12th centuries seen under water in the Kbal Spean River between the hills.
The area is highly risky of UXOs (unexploded ordnances) and it was the last main camp of remaining groups from the Khmer Rouge.
