Canadian producer, director, and scriptwriter David Christensen is one of the founding members of the Calgary Cinémathèque, as well as the production company Agitprop Films with Damien Lewis. In 1998 he made Writing Icons about a contemporary painter of icons. In 1999 he directed a short film, Fit, and another documentary, The Heart Becomes Quiet, about the disastrous gas leak in Bhopal that killed over 2,000 people. The Breath of God (2002) was an interpretation of the Bible, while War Hospital (2005), co-directed with Damien Lewis, was an account of life in the largest military hospital in the world in northern Kenya. In 2005 his first feature film Six Figures recounted the interrogation of a man accused of raping his wife. David Christensen is also an executive producer at the National Film Board of Canada.
