Markings

HIs body scared from rough housing, burns from cigarets on the top of his hand. They are his markings, a sign of the transformation into becoming a part of the community. The marks often come from being forced to change and do what he feels is wrong..

Glenn I love your entire series, it is so brutally honest!
I remember, as a kid living in Europe, I was always told to watch out for Gypsies, as they will "steal" little girls, and we had many come to our door trying to sell us something - Then, I had a very "romantic" view of gypsies, their freedom to move around, that is what they did in those times...it seamed so cool. These days I am much more aware of the real hardships they have to endure...yet, they still persevere and manage to survive this very difficult lifestyle.

That picture is mostly sad! It's scary when the kids get toys in the hands of adults and cruel people.
Even worse is that when the boy grows up, he'll do the same with small children.
On my opinion that image is the strongest in Gypsy kids album!
    Regards
    Tania
