i agree with adele and leonid: a strikingly timeless atmosphere! all those somewhat archetypal faces and ancient trades… and it's the strangest thing: the somewhat "culminating" architecture of the old temple with its leg-like pillars, its many stories, its many bays and vaults suits what's going on on the square in front of it well! yes, no clash but a merging! and up to the smallest detail: even the conical shape of the hats and baskets match the conical shape of the building! greetings, sabine. p.s.: love the detail of the grim-faced little girl (or boy?) seeking eye-contact with the camera!Zenonas 29/01/2014 11:13

It is a stunning old building, and using it as a market venue does seem rather sad.....but at least it is still used, and hopefully cared for.An excellent shot, filled with great detail and life.
