Hi Dave. Thanks for explaining how you got such a beautiful effect. I used to use the stocking trick - but I stretched it over a square of cardboard or one of those square Cokin filters.
As for the editing work, little secret very very little infact. It is mostly done as shot.
1st use an old UV filter and mix vasaline jelly with choclate lipstick, the wives !!!!, and lightly smear over the filter. Place the filter on the lens as well as stretching a piece of nylon tights over the filter as well, again the wives honest :-)))
Then take the shot slightly overexposing with a good breeze of a wind ever so slightly moving the tripod and you will acheive this effect with no help of PS.
So to eceryone who thinks " Too much PS work" well now tou know.
love the softness and colours, but it dos'nt seem to be in focus, or maybee to much "neat image" or something has made it look like that, wish is was more sharp
sorry contra
Hee Hee I've just proposed David's other similar shot :-)
Actually I like this one too, but the editing (Noise Removal?) has been a little over done on this one I think the other version is better.
@Thomasina - From someone who complains about a lack of comment from voters I find yours somewhat unhelpful. Pray tell us, why is it not very good ?
I really enjoy the dark dreamy editing of it. ; ) One of a handful I've seen that I would present as a gift to an important person. It made my heart skip a few beats. The picture actually haunts me. I've seen something like this in a massive mural of either the DIA or Chicago museums. It gives off a very Fredrick Edwin Church expression in it's coloring and lighting, but with an intimacy, romance, mystery.
