Red Poppy

Red poppy (also known as corn poppy, field poppy or Flanders poppy) is notable as an agricultural weed and after World War I as a symbol of dead soldiers.

The plant can produce up to 400 vivid red flowers in a warm season, but every flower lasts only one day.

Grows mostly in fields, beside roads and grasslands.

Dutch name : Grote Klaproos (ook papaver genoemd)
German name : Klatschmohn (auch Mohnblume oder Klatschrose genannt)
Latin name : Papaver rhoeas

With this shot, I say bye-bye for some time, because tomorrow I’m leaving on holiday.
I hope to see you all back safe and sound somewhere in august.
