In this lesson: “GO EAST” = “Nach Osten gehen”

Opposite direction (1) is: “Go west”.

Whether (2) you go west or east does not matter: Because of the spherical shape (3) of the earth you always get to the same point.

But there is one difference: In everyday language (4) “to go west” means something like “den Bach runtergehen” or “über den Jordan gehen” (= to die). If you want to live a little bit longer you have to go east :-)
