This also can happen in Tibet, a Chinese influence:
During the raining days we visited a thermal bath outside Lhasa. At the entrance gate we'd to hire the bathing costumes, those for the ladies.
Then later we just preferred to have a look to some Japanese tourists enjoying swimming in the pool.
This styles of swimsuits are my recommendation for the next European bathing fashion contest.
