Sheated Cottonsedge

I found an exceptional plant while exploring the bogland, the Sheated Cottonsedge.

It’s a typical plant of swamps and tundra bogs.
This grass species is most conspicuous in fruit, when its single head produces silky-white cotton-like plumes.

Not really spectacular I know, but very rare in Belgium and I'm glad I found one.

Location : Kutenhart (nature reserve ‘Hohes Venn’, Belgium)

Dutch name : Eénarig Wollegras
German name : Scheiden-Wollgras
Latin name : Eriophorum vaginatum
