    I really like some of your fotos. And sometimes I don't understand, why so many people like this particular one. I feel that some other fotos of you deserve more clicks than this one. But that's freedom! Regards Marlis

      In reality - It is a mediocre photograph - so i tend to agree with you. The Cheviot Hills are quite feature-less - just grass and sky and rounded hills - so the eye is attracted by the shadows of clouds moving on the hills. I was pleased to get a few sheep on the slopes. Nevertheless - the picture to me means emptiness, quiet, solitude. ("Pseud's Corner" as the magazine, Private Eye, would say. The sheep are far fewer in number in these hills than they were in previous years - a sign of economic stress and farming change. My walking companion in the day (my brother) suggested that landowners are making more money from grouse-shooting (bird-shooting) - hence fewer sheep on the hills. mark
