Shikha Narayan temple beside Bagmati river
Hindus refer to many Holy places as gods themselves. A devout Hindu upon crossing the Bagmati will kiss their hand and touch it to their forehead in reverence. Cattle, also deities in Hinduism, and also often starving and sickly, will be seen near the river sometimes sitting right in the middle of a bridge. However, among the young people of the Kathmandu valley this question is very wide-spread: "Is this how you treat your god?"
