Small eels at Menjangan
The "worms" that crawl out of their holes are little garden eels (Heterocongrinae). They crawl into small holes on the seabed and usually look up to a third of their body length vertically. Sand eels are seven to 40 inches long.
My dive buddy Michael approaches these snake-shaped small animals with the utmost care on the bottom of the sea, so they do not disappear instantly into their burrows.
