spinning and gossiping – two terms that have always been connected, especially in ancient times: those long winter evenings by the fire, when all that could be done was spinning wool and telling stories and riddles, hoping and praying that one day spring would return and bring daylight, growth, warmth… no wonder that in english "to spin a yarn" is a fixed phrase meaning "to tell a long, far-fetched story"! i feel that timelessness in your image! two old ladies spinning yarn and spinning a yarn, and at the same time looking like little girls sharing some cotton candy… ; ))) greetings, sabine.
