Surrendered...

Probably tired of praying she decided that devoting herself to something more practical could prove a more profitable and rewarding duty and merciful God would definitely forgive her....

: ) speaking of refuge, something there is, that makes a man (or a woman) want to succumb to sleep, to stow away in the pew, when in church alone and done praying… ; ) amazing and quite touching, how in her cocooning slumber she unconsciously assumes an "iconic" pose, blending in with her sacred surroundings beautifully, as though blissfully engaged in her own personal madonna mimicry! ; ) love the kindness and forgiving humor oozing from this shot: if jesus, of all people, couldn't deal with humanity of this kind, who could! ; ) greetings, sabine.

A touching image. The candles framing her face and you captured the wonderful soft light which gives the whole situation something mysterious if not holy. Yes, God will forgive her.
    Greetings, Sabine

This is superb Alexander, you have perfect focus on the face of the sleeping old lady as she sits quietly in that corner having surrendered to the peace and quiet of this Holy place.
Perhaps it is the one place where she does feel at rest with her God and herself.

    :))
