The fruit called fak khao
This majestic fruit which looks very similar to the fruit called "gac" is perhaps my favorite in the entire kingdom of Thailand.
It’s an incredible amount of health benefits and nutrients. Gac contains SPF, so when you consume it you actually help protect against UV rays. It also has beta-kerotene, lycopene, and antioxidents.
It’s rare in most parts of Thailand, and normally eaten while still pale yellow, making perfectly ripe bright red ones basically unavailable at nearby markets.
Its so much juicy that I couldn't stop eating and with an other one I made an extremely delicious drink
In fact, the main reason I love this obscure fruit is its Thai name: It is romanized as “fak khao,” but the name fak means pumpkin and a fak thong is an Hokkaido pumpkin.
