The Fungi World (190) : (birth of a) Yellow Stagshorn

This macro shows the beginning growth of a Yellow Stagshorn.
It's only 2 mm. high, but look at what a nice design, shape and colour this miniature already has !

Yellow Stagshorn is a small, greasy and slimy fungus species with a tough, gelatinous texture.
Very typical are its antler-like yellow branches mostly forked near the tops.

Dutch name : Kleverig koraalzwammetje
German name : Klebriger Hörnling
Latin name : Calocera viscosa

Here you can see a picture of a full grown Yellow Stagshorn (which is 1 cm. high)
