The line of the Roman Wall from above Crag Lough
The Roman Wall ran along Highshield Crags above Crag Lough and continued West along Windshield Crags, in the distance. The line of the wall here followed a natural series of escarpments where strata of Whin Sill broke the surface. A formidable base to build the wall on.

That is a beautiful shot of an historically interesting area. And we had so a Roman barrier in Germany also, the Limes. Your picture pleases me very well.Greets Ralf
