The Living Forest (207) : Toadflax
In the summertime many wild flowers were growing in the forest, like this specially shaped Toadflax (also known as Butter-and-Eggs) that I found at the borderline of the woodland.
It’s a wild plant native to Europe and northern Asia, from the United Kingdom in the west to the western part of China in the east.
It has also been introduced and is now common in North America.
Although often considered as a weed, Toadflax has wonderful flowers.
I wouldn’t call that a weed…….!
Dutch name : Vlasbekje
German name : Echtes Leinkraut
Latin name : Linaria vulgaris
