The Living Forest (254) : European Brown Frog
The Brown Frog is found throughout much of Europe as far north as northern Scandinavia inside the Arctic Circle and as far east as the Urals.
Unlike the Green Frog (which usually always lives in water), the Brown Frog inhabits the long grasses of damp forests, tundra and steppes.
Brown Frogs are known to be able to lighten and darken their skin in order to match their surroundings.
Dutch name : Bruine kikker
German name : Grasfrosch
Latin name : Rana temporaria
