Lynn,
Due to cropping you lose detail......
Cropping is blowing up the pixels , this can be done when the shot is from high quality.....but never over do it.....;-)))
Would love to see the original shot , if you want to discus it you can send it to me and we work from there...
Be easy on the food you spread out .....and don't buy pigeon food ....just buy the small seeds and put em out in very small quantities...
Nail or screw ( attach) a twig on to the stump so the birds can land on it before landing in the middle of the food....
They focus is good here , the eye seems to be nice and sharp....( well in focus )
The breast as also the food is slightly burned out......try shooting a stop lower in these ( the same conditions )
If you still have the original ,send it .....would love to see....;-))
Greetings.......Fons
This is very good Lynn with the lens your using :-)
The food at the the Robins foot is a little bright , that's about it ! You have made giant strides already.National Geographical by next Christmas :-)

No serious problems here. It's a good shot. Nice pose, good composition, again, and a lovely catchlight in the Robin's eye. Well done.John Johnstone 01/01/2009 13:38
