Thera primaria - Early Moth - Früher Schlehenbusch-Winterspanner
Late in the evening I searched for this species with a flashlight shining in the hawthorns or thornapples.
I found this copulating pair and was very happy because this species is quite rare in the Netherlands and you have to look for it in januari only in this month you can find this species in the hawthorns!
Belongs to the geometridae.
The female can't fly because of the less developed wings.
When she is coming out of the pupa she climbs in the treetrunk and waits in the tree for a male to mate and after that she searches for a good location to deponate her eggs.

Isn't nature wonderful when it disguises a moth so well.best wishes from Lawson.
