At the upper end of the street the Rotonda building can be seen ,a most important Roman monument built in 306 AD by the Roman tetrarch Galerius initially intended to be his grave. Byzantine emperor Constantine converted it to an Orthodox church of St George with famous mosaics and eventually after Ottoman occupation in 1430 the church became eventualy in 1590 a mosque with its minaret standing till now...Near by is also the famous Galerius Arch that together with Rotonda were part of his imperial palace complex.
