Under the moonlight
A view of Melbourne city under the full moon from Williamstown Beach.
Location: Williamstown Beach, Victoria, Australia
Camera: Canon EOS 300D
Lens: Tamron 28-75mm
Technical note: I took the overall photo first using exposure 10 sec @ f/16. I got the effect that I wanted, i. e.: moon reflection, properly lit of whole scene and slow motion in the water + ships. However, as a consequence, the moon was blown out. To solve this problem, I took the second shot using exposure 1/60 sec @ f/9.5. Later on I combined both images using Photoshop.

Nevetheless the moon and by which the straightly narrow shining is made upon the sea are very attractive and fascinating, and surely the cityscape and small ships do add something more for the picturesqueness of the whole.Frank Cecconi 22/02/2006 3:08
