View of the Swiss Alps at a Föhn Day (Waldshut, May 2008)
A view of the Swiss Alps on a Foehn wind day (Chinook wind in America).
I took this picture from a spot in the German Black Forest area a couple of years ago when I was living there. The three peaks in the centre is the ridge crest of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfau, one of the most famous sights of the Swiss Alps with an elevation of around 4,000 meters. The fog covered valley in between is the Rhine River Valley, which is also the borderline between Germany and Switzerland.
By car, it takes around three and a half hours to get there. Quite a long trip but a nice one, though
