White Rock, Wairarapa - Part I

White Rock is a piece of limestone (Amuri Limestone) on the beautiful South-East coast of the North Island (Wairarapa Region).
The same rock type also occurs on the South Island around Kaikoura. It really is only one chunk of "white rock" and it stands out. It has been uplifted along a faultline - the whole area is criss-crossed with faults and there are heaps of different rock types next to each other.
Apart from being of geological interest, I think it's simply beautiful and a great coast to take photos in general. Tora Beach is just a few km to the North of White Rock and also a beautiful place.
