Wieringer Barge WR6
I shot this in the summer of 2005 when I was sailing on a Skûtsje on the IJsselmeer to the Sail Amsterdam 2005.
Wieringer Barge with registration number WR6, sailing on the IJsselmeer with a sailing competition in the background.
The WR6 is build in the 1920's and was first registered as BIW18 (Broek in Waterland) from where it was used to fish for eel until 1957. From 1980 on (after restoration) it is registered as WR6. I say restored, but it might be completely rebuild. Oak doesn't last too long in non-salty water, especially when you neglect maintenance.

Very nice tones and everything placed just right in the frame. Looks a bit like a painting from an old dutch master.greetings Bob
