A propos de moi
Our Roots
In the Spring of 1973, a young and optimistic entrepreneur built a small store and greenhouse on four acres in eastern Monroe County. Hard work and a vision for success has turned Wayside Garden Center into a full service, eight acre enterprise sure to delight every gardener.
With an acre of perennials, you will find both the common and the unusual, to grow and blossom year after year. And, Wayside has a full service landscaping department -- we can help you from the design stage all the way through the finishing touches.
A couple things you'll enjoy knowing about Wayside:
1) Stop in and see our new waterfall, pond and stream display garden, located behind our rhododendron/hydrangea department. Near the display waterfall you'll find Wayside Garden Center's new line of water plants, including new lower-priced water lilies and shallow-water plants.
2) Last year saw the introduction of our new full-color plant signs, which featured a color photograph of most of the plants we sell. Since then, we've added easy-to-spot designations to these signs, so you'll know at a glance which of our plants attract hummingbirds, which attract butterflies, and which plants are least likely to sustain damage from deer browsing.
3) The Wayside name has been used in the family for over 60 years.
4) Most of our annuals are grown right here at Wayside and the balance is sourced from other local growers.
