Maine | Fort Point Lighthouse |
With a range of 15 nautical miles the 1857 erected lighthouse secures the Penobscot Bay, Maine, still with is original Fourth-order Fresnel lens.
A beautiful place to rest!
Nearby also the remains of Fort Pownell, established in 1759 to secure European settlements.
However, no battle took place and finally it was destroyed to the ground in 1775.

a very picturesque scene ... the fine old lighthouse (older than Vancouver) in beautiful surroundings and a beacon of light for mariners ... your capture well composed with the large bush to the left balancing the tower, fine light and impressive cloud formations !!!greetings, Adele
