night walk to the castle

The imposing castle at the highest crest of the capital Hora, built by the Venetians in the 14th century, is a landmark of the island.
A night walk to it through a maze of tiny streets of the town was among my favourites.

wow, very beautifully done, alexander! for me it's an image from the twilight zone! it drops the viewer right in, poses him between those walls, urging him to probe into the past and literally re-LIVE history by visually lighting out for the castle on the hill, like generations and generations of people have done before. as soon as he starts walking, ghosts of all ages will step down from the walls, whisper in his ears, dart through the air, moan through keyholes of the doors, and join him on his journey… greetings, sabine. p.s.: i do love the tiny and clean-cut silhouette of the castle on the hill!Lawson McCulloch 05/10/2014 15:22

This is excellent... not quite night but dark enough for the street light to be working giving a lovely glow in the narrow street and lighting your way to the castle way above on the hill.The tones and details here are excellent and you have portrayed the atmosphere so well.
