7-Scape No.16 - 111th St-Roosevelt Av

On this December afternoon rush-hour, a Manhattan-bound 7 train begins
service as it enters 111th St/Roosevelt Avenue Station from Corona Yard.

This elevated complex, above Roosevelt Avenue, is a local station. Unlike more typical local stations
along the 7 Line, the center tracks are not for peak-direction rush-hour express trains. Instead, such
trains bypass this station on the flyover ramp. Thus, the wide expanse of center trackage, seen here
between the Manhattan- and Flushing-bound platforms, serves as yard leads to the nearby expansive
Corona Yard, where the 7 fleet is maintained, as well as stored between peak traffic periods.

In the tele-compressed distance, at left, another Manhattan-bound 7 train
can be seen just leaving Mets-Willetts Point Station to the east.

My "7Scapes" series captures the long eleven-car trains of the New York City Subway system's IRT No. 7
Flushing Line, at stations between 34th Street-Hudson Yards and Flushing-Main Street in Queens.
About the series and how it came to be ;-)
