A camera pack, a bag of film, an EOS-1...and thou
Not my sharpest, or technically best, kitty-picture, I know…
This one is just for cat lovers.
It’s a grab shot, taken while I was being “adopted” by a little girl I call Miezekatze, who
lives in Samedan in the Upper Engadin region of Switzerland’s Canton Graubünden.
It was late in the day and we were in the shade. Flash would have spoiled the mood,
and I like the way the 1/25 sec. shutter speed showed little Mieze’s movement as she
purposefully walked across my camera gear, baggie full of film, and my EOS-1 camera…
on her way to climbing up to my face.
I did get one a bit sharper, but it didn’t show as much of her moving front paw…or that cute little tongue.
If you’d like to read the story of our meeting and see more photos of little Mieze, please follow this link to my blog.

: )))))) you are right: the softness of that moving frontpaw and her determined and purposeful look are irresistbly charming: striving for that tender touch takes persistence and determination! no time to smile into the camera, i'm afraid – just listen to her pushy purr!! ; )) greetings, sabine. p.s.: i just love how there's this certain "autumnal atmosphere" in the picture (the fallen leaves!), which matches the packed stuff perfectly, hinting at a wistful goodbye…
