Along E 42nd Street

Beaux-Arts, Art Deco, Modern…

Yes, in New York City, these disparate architectural styles can exist cheek-by-jowl.
But, somehow, just because it’s New York, I find an intriguing harmony about the mix.

This composition, with the MetLife (once upon a time PanAm) Building looming over the façade of Grand Central Terminal, the Grand Hyatt Hotel next door, and the iconic spire of the Chrysler Building rising just to the east, was captured on Konica 750 IR film in my Canon EOS-620 through a Tokina 20-35 mm lens wearing a No.25 red filter.
