Aufgenommen auf unseren 4 Tages-Trip nach Tromsø, am 04.02.12.
Nachdem wir tagsüber Hundeschlitten-Touren unternommen hatten, waren wir schon ein wenig müde, als wir mit einem lokalen Guide, der einem die Inselwelt Nord-Norwegens besser nicht hätte zeigen können, aufbrachen. Schon unterwegs waren an diesem kalten und wunderbar klaren Abend die ersten Quiet-Displays in Form eines leichten, grünen Halbkreises zu sehen. Als wir unseren ersten Beobachtungspunkt erreicht hatten dauerte es etwa eine halbe Stunde, bis der erste richtige Ausbruch stattfand. Ein wirklich magischer Moment, so etwas schönes hatte ich noch nie gesehen. Am Anfang vergass man glatt das Fotografieren.
Das Bild ist noch zu Beginn des Ausbruchs aufgenommen, die folgenden Bilder zeigen zum Teil noch stärkere Aktivität. Durch den fast vollen Mond wurden die weißen Berge im Hintergrund fantastisch beleuchtet, den Rest der Szenerie tauchten die Auroras in seicht grünliches Licht...

Taken on a 4 day trip to Tromsø on the 4th of February 2012.
We were really tired after a full day dog sledding tour, when we started with a local guide who really knew the best locations around the islands.
Right when we started driving out of Tromsø we saw the first quiet displays of northern lights at that ice cold and clear evening. Like a light green rainbow in the sky. When we reached the first spotting point for this evening it only took around half an hour until the first real outbreak of the northern lights started. A really magic moment, I have never seen somthing beautiful like this. I totally forgot taking pictures at that time. This picture was taken some time after the beginning of the outbreak, which went a lot stronger, which the following pictures will show. Because the moon was shining so bright, all the mountains in the background were litten up, the rest of the scenery was plunged into soft green light from the auroras...
