Contrasts in Lower Manhattan
The Santiago Calatrava designed Oculus transportation hub at World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan. The narrow brown building with red roof is the Corbin Building, dating from 1889. It was carefully stabilized during construction of the new Fulton Center Subway complex and restored in the process. The black form rising behind the outstretched ribs of the Oculus is the Millennium Hilton Hotel.

A Calatrava typical building. Good composition with the old tower in the background. Though it does make me smile what you call old. :-)
